About

What I do

I work with adults and young adults who want to find joy, purpose, and ease in their lives, but struggle to make this a reality. Instead, they find themselves feeling trapped by painful thoughts, emotions, habits, traumatic experiences, or current circumstances—including political and cultural factors that impact mental health.

I combine genuine warmth, empathy, and humor with practical guidance to help clients work through their unique challenges. I have a collaborative, engaged approach and am committed to supporting my clients in meeting their goals. My practice is informed by trauma-informed and cognitive-behavioral principles, and draws from my training in CBT, DBT, RO-DBT, ACT, and other behavioral therapies.

Who I work with

The clients I work with often experience some of the following:

  • Anxiety

  • Difficulty relaxing and being present

  • Obsessing or overthinking

  • Worry

  • Self-criticism

  • Perfectionism

  • Overworking

  • Fear and avoidance

  • Procrastination

  • Compulsive or repetitive behavior

  • Loneliness

  • Difficulty opening up to others

  • Self-harm

  • Suicidal thoughts

  • Trauma or PTSD

  • ADHD

I particularly enjoy working with young adults, college students, women, non-binary folks, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Please note that I do not work with teens, couples, or families. I am happy to make referrals to providers who do offer these services.

Who I am

In addition to being a therapist, I’m also a proud mom to a dog, a cat, and a few dozen houseplants. I’m originally from California but have lived in the Midwest for the last 10 years. In case you’re wondering, no—I still don’t know how to dress for winter! When I’m not working, you can probably find me watering my plants, relaxing in my backyard, listening to a podcast, watching Netflix, dabbling in a new hobby, talking to my pets like they’re human, or spending quality time with my friends and family.
